I actually took about the whole month of July to put them in, I don't really have an exact date, but we just passed the 2 year point with her! I actually thought that I had put B's in BEFORE you did G's, guess not :)
(Katie)Katie and Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09599913531766586871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487983111720513109.post-90880461818719658512010-07-30T14:05:29.232-07:002010-07-30T14:05:29.232-07:00My little boy who is about to turn 4 has locs star...My little boy who is about to turn 4 has locs started with single strand twists and we love love them. They are about 11 months old right now. It's so easy to take care of his hair.

My daughter is 3 and arrived home from Haiti in February with very damaged hair. It is very uneven and she has terrible thinning along her hairline. (To the point of not having any hair along her temples and above her ears.) I am counting the days until her hair is long enough to do braidlocs on. What I have learned is that her hair can be a major source of stress for me. Maybe that will change as her hair gets healthier but right now my desire for her hair to look amazing gets met with the realities of her hair/my abilities and it leads to frustration. Yarn braids have seemed to be a great thing for us as they eliminated the stress, last for a long time, look good, and help keep her hair healthy. And the best part is they are so versitile. You can do so much with them, just like locs. (ponytails, pigtails, headebands, braided braids, etc.) I just really get panicked when her hair starts coming out of a style; I always feel like it's so much different than a lot of other hair types because I can't just quickly change the style. (Her hair isn't long enough to do a quick puff or even to do two quick puffs so they only quick change we have is a small afro which gets tangled so badly.) So for me, it is important to have hair be a stressfree time for me and my kiddos so that's just one reason we might be headed towards locs.kayder1996https://www.blogger.com/profile/10163830032652646010noreply@blogger.com
