  1. Katie and Steph, you both do such a nice job on your daughters' hair! I love all the designs and the different bead patterns. I was wondering what kind of product you use on their hair.

  2. I think you should try a product called Bee Mine (www.beemineproducts.com). Some of the products are natural & organic. Check out the website. I use it and so does my daughter and we love it.

  6. HI! Wondering if you have advice about where to buy hair things online. Also, what kind of gel do you recommend? I bought some but it doesn't work well.

  8. I am SO HAPPY to find your blog! I, too have adopted a beautiful African American girl. She is 16 months old and has hair! Lots of wonderful hair! I'm confident that I can learn how to do corn rows and am currently doing small french braids in her hair. My problem is that I can't get her to sit still while I work on her hair. Any suggestions for easy hairdos at this age?

  9. I love your blog. I adopted my daughter 3 years ago. I was her foster mom. I found your site when I was looking for information on a better way to bead her hair (I was using foil and it was taking WAY to long). Thank you so much for doing this site. I have told all my friends about it.

  10. I am a African American who grew up doing hair. I made school money doing it. And I have my own daughter now 13. And I am telling you that you my sister have ME beat when it comes to your creativity. Go on with your bad self!! It is lovely not only seeing the love you have with all your daughters, but how you are determined to embrace their culture and help make them feel more beautiful for it and not despite it. ALL of your daughters ARE BEAUTIFUL, but you don't need to be told that. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL TOO!!

  11. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU AND ALL OF YOUR DAUGHTERS! The love you have shines through your interaction with and the way you have embraced a vital part of their culture. I am African American and I made money during the summer braiding hair. I have my own daughter now 13 and sister YOU have me beat when it comes to your creativity! Go on with your bad self! Those girls feel beautiful because of the way you helped them to embrace who they are, not in spite of who they are, and YOU are truly beautiful for that. What ever their stories started out being they are indeed blessed to have you as their mom.
