I'm sure you all were wondering how long it would be before we had a Snapaholics Hair Bling giveaway at Keep Me Curly, weren't you?
I probably don't need to tell anyone who reads this blog how much fun it is to put hair beads, snaps, and other cute items into your child's hair style!
I also probably don't need to mention that some people have huge fishing tackle boxes full of this stuff.
Or that missing a certain color shade in your perfect rainbow of bead bins can make you start to twitch uncontrollably.
Or that the skill required to perfectly match outfits and hair bling on a daily basis rivals that of most Olympic Sports...
If you don't have firsthand knowledge of these things, then ENTER TO WIN our giveaway! If you don't win, fear not. Everything to satisfy your cravings for hair bling (or start them, if you're new to this) can be found at Snapaholics.com!!
The contest is open now and will close on Friday, August 13th at midnight EST!!!!!
To enter please leave a comment on THIS post and answer THIS question:
Go to Snapaholics.com and check out all the fabulous hair bling. Then post a comment to THIS post about which items you like and what style you'd do with them...which beads, what kind of style, and then how you'd finish off the braid/twist, with which snaps or finish with a bead or barrette?! (And don't be surprised if we might borrow your ideas LOL)

I would love to use the BGP Pink & White Sheen beads on some box braids (since that's about all I can do besides puffs and veil syles). Or, maybe I'll FINALLY get daring and attempt some conrrows with them!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan on Facebook. I have your link on my blog. Follower on Twitter (Ellagracesmom). Posted this as my Twitter status "LOVES keepmecurly.com!". I'm a blog follower.
I try to give my daughter a break in between beaded styles, so instead of finishing the cornrows with beads I just use a snap! The snaps from snapaholics are better quality than any of the snaps that I've tried at the local beauty supply
ReplyDeleteI style my little sister's hair and I just love Snapaholics! I would do 4 braids with a cross part and use the BGP OPAQUE HEART MIX beads and probably just end it with the same kind of bead.

Wow, too cool to be the first commenter! :) I would most definately get pastel colored ballies and snaps. My little one wants "lots of teeny braids with pretty balls on top and jewel flowers on the bottom"! She is pretty opinionated. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the strawberry ponytail holders you had on one of your post I don't know if you still carry that item.. I will give my daughter the biggest afro puff...Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to try the purple cubes. I think I would do veil braids and slide one onto each braid.

ReplyDeleteI'd like the mini-barrettes. I'm hoping they'd stay in better than the snaps I have. I'd also like some other snaps, so that when my daughter stops pulling everything out, I have a stash to go to.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to KMC in an RSS reader.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE snapaholics! You carry the best snaps out there by far. Love 'em. I recently just got an order of the big giant beads, and a new latch hook style beader. Beading has always been to frustrating for me, until now! LOVE IT!! Thank you for all your support snapaholics!

ReplyDeleteOh this is so hard to answer!! I think I go to Snapaholics daily and wish I could buy everything! I really like the purple star beads, but I also like the butterfly beads. Unfortunately, Mikayla isn't cooperative enough for me to do much to her hair yet. Right now I've got it in my head that I'd like to do box breads with a beads or a snap at the end.

ReplyDeleteI would like to try:BGP PURPLEY STAR MIX. I would put a bead at the root before I start to braid then braid halfway and add another bead then finish with more beads at the bottom and seal with a coordinating snap.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a fan of KMC on Facebook.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it is very difficult for me to find such pretty beads and barrettes and all that stuff for my biracial daughter because we live in Germany and the shipping cost from Marimosa is unbelievable high.
ReplyDeleteBut thanks for all the great instruction videos. I've learned how to make cornrows from your videos katie and now people asking me who did this great hair job on my daughters hair :-)
But I've got one question. Do your daughters also sleep with all the beads in their hair??
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteHi there, Guten Tag! Didn't you know? Snapaholics will now ship to ANYWHERE! So shop away!! You do not HAVE to use Mariposa. Although she does have a lot of good stuff. If your order will not fit in a priority envelope, I will bill you for additional shipping costs. If it will fit, then the shipping charge is already built in and will be charged to you at checkout.

@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAlso, I forgot. Yes they do sleep with it all! If there were some really bulky ponytail holders, I would probably take those out. But the beads and snaps and most of it, yes! Doesn't bother mine at all.
Steph
Well, I would like to order a lot of the stuff.. especially since it is hard to find a good selection of hair goodies locally! But I looked at the beads and my daughter LOVES purple.. and those big holed purple star beads would be a for sure item. I've never tried snaps, so I'd want to use those too. My girl has lots and lots of hair (age 8) and I'd probably do small box braids all over w/ the beads and end w/ snaps.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I already advertised this site on facebook tonight!
P.s. I'm also a fan on facebook, AND I'm a follower of this blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the double-sided pastel hair snaps. My daughter's hair is still really short so we would use them at the end of short twists which is about all I can do with her hair right now. She loves to wear snaps, though, and calls them "Pretties".

ReplyDeleteI think I would get the pastel starflower and pastel mix barrels. I would put them on the end of box braids, probably two barrels with a starflower in the middle.

ReplyDeleteThe BGP hearts or stars. I just started using the BGP's having only done smaller braids. I love how these look ending rope twists which is what I would do with them. Probably end them with a barrette.

ReplyDeleteI want the BGP butterflies, would finish with flower snaps in box braids.
ReplyDeleteI also follow Katie on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just liked you on FB too!
ReplyDeleteI am very new to braiding, and I would love to try the snaps. I think I would get the most use out of the pastel mix flowers, but I would also love to try some of the other styles as well. For right now, I am doing box braids and trying to learn how to cornrow.
ReplyDeleteOf course, after looking at your site, I would love to try some of the beautiful beads in her hair as well... So many choices! :)
